if someone has severe panic attacks how long would it take for the panic attacks to start showing relief from medications ?
Effexor XR in particular ?

Xr is the extended release hence the XR label. As for you stating that any effexor is a ssri is wrong as it is a snri. You have to be careful what you post because you might lead people incorrectly.

3-6 weeks on average. Maybe sooner for some. But it won’t cure them. You havae to do thinking modification also.

FlowersY is right - approximately 3 to 6 weeks. I am somewhat confused though. Effexor XR I have never heard of but Efexor XL - also known as Venlfaxine (is a slow release medication) is used as an SSRI antidepressant. What other medication are you on?
