You could talk to your Doctor they can suggest all kinds of treatments to try. The one that really helped me with my anxiety and depression is an alternative therapy called Emotional Freedom Technique. Since using it I have been feeling a lot better. It's very good at getting rid of all kinds of negative emotions and dealing with all kinds of issues quickly. It does sound bizarre but does work. Might be something that can help you. These are some links about it.

Please be clear on the symptoms. Do you scream and shout and pound on the walls desperate to get out of the room or place you are in? If not you are not having a panic attack and if someone has told you that you are they need re training in diagnosis. Do you mean you experience anxiety – mild or other wise in which case deep focused breathing is actually one of the simplest and most effetive methods – also distraction strategies like focusing on some music. If the anxiety is related to a specific situation then a systematic desensitisation programme would be of the most benefit implemented by someone who knows what they are doing.

I know a great program. I have been through it and although from time to time I have a slight panic attack, for the most part I feel almost normal again. Panic Attacks are the worst feeling in the world. I wish you luck, just hang in there you will feel better soon. You should go to your Dr. also just in case. I take a mild anti anxiety medication that relaxes me when I can't relax through any other means.

Take "time out" and slow down. Slow your rate of breathing, slow your racing thoughts, slow your entire body, head to toe. Then slowly resume your previous activities.
Picture a relaxing scene using all your senses. Now put yourself into the scene.
If there are places available, take a stroll. If there are people available, talk to one of them.
Picture a person you trust, someone who believes in you, supports you and cares about your well-being. Now imagine the person is with you, offering you encouragement.
Recall a time you handled a similar situation well, or try to bring to mind a past success and the good feelings you experienced at that time.
Focus on the present, on concrete objects around you. Make a game of noticing details or inventing questions about every object you identify.
Count backwards from 20 and with every number, picture a different image of someone you love, something that pleases you, something that calms you. These might be images you recall from the past or those you only imagine.
Occupy your mind with an absorbing task. Plan your schedule for the day or the evening; try to recall the name of all the Clint Eastwood movies you have ever seen; plan a sumptuous meal, appetiser through to dessert, and imagine yourself eating one bite of every course.
Bring to mind the image of a person you admire and imagine yourself to actually be that person. Think as they might think, act as they might act, even feel as they might feel.
Remind yourself that attacks always end. Always.
Remind yourself that panic is not dangerous.
Take a giant yawn and stretch your body, head to toe.
Get mad. Vow not to let panic win out. You deserve better.
If all else fails, take as deep a breath as you can and hold it as long as you can. Use one of the other strategies to occupy your mind. Your physical symptoms should come down and stay down.

I used to suffer panic attacks. I used to be so scared that I was about to die – heart rate and stuff. The best advice was from my mum who is a mental health nurse. She told me that when the panic is coming to remind myself I have been through it before and it didn't kill me – i wasn't going to die. I would take deep breaths and continue this possitive thinking and my panic attacks were soon a thing of the past. Every so often one will surprise me but I use my mums advice and send it packing!!!

Hi, I also have panic attacks, so I sympathize with you, they are really horrible aren't they?
When I feel panicy I start taking nice deep breaths and keep reminding myself that I am OK, nothings going to happen, I'm safe.
One thing with me that sometimes causes panic attacks is going out, so I let whoever I'm going out with know how I feel and what to do and not do.
One thing I like them to do is to talk to me, doesn't matter what it can be complete nonsence, but I force myself to consentrate on there voice which helps me to block out other things.
I also like to play mind games like name an animal with each letter of the alphabet, so basically I like to use distraction, hopeing that that will prevent a panic attack happening in the first place.
I hope this has given you some ideas and has helped in some way.
Good luck

Hypnothink. Sounds weird but it's not, and it works brilliantly, it's like re-programming your mind and generating mind tools to help in these situations, like a mental Swiss Army knife.

Hey,
I had panic attacks too, horrible they were too. This willsound really cliche to osmeone going through them as it did to me at the time but the thing that fuels panic and anxiety is your fear to them. They can seem to come from nowhere but they dont. I was put on an antidepressant as it was starting to mess me up. I didn't like the stigma attached but you will discover that there are more people than you think suffering from this. Its a reflection of the modern world.
Anyhow about two months of Fluoxetine put an end to my panic and anxiety. Also got involved in a lot of new hobbies and identified areas of my life I wasnt happy with – mainly my job.
you will recover I promise you, it'll take time.

The only treatment i know of for panic attacks are anti-depressants or beta blockers, both which are used to calm the nerves. Self help can also work, depending on the reason behind the panic attacks. When you are having a panic attack, stop what you are doing and try and focus on something, look out of the window (if in the house) at the garden or something outside, the idea is to distract yourself from the attack, it works believe me!

when i take one and i'm in the house i go and lie down for an hour. thats hiding when the phone rings or somebody knocks the door. in work i'll go and hide in the toilet for 10 minutes. when i take a panic attack i hide, i'm not ashamed of it but i cant control the anxiety. i dont know about treatment but i'm not taking a quick fix. my body and head has taken more abuse than most. a panic attack is nothing to me when i've went to work with a broken rib.
