I suffer from panic attacks. What type of medication is used in treating panic attacks?
usually anti-anxiety meds like xanax, lorazepam, ativan, vallium, zoloft, prozac (only in severe cases with another underlying mental health problem) paxil, celexa etc. it depends on what is best for you..

There are medications already listed for acute anxiety and panic attacks. Medicines from the benzodiazepine family, like diazepam (Valium), lorazepam (Ativan), and clonazepam (Klonipin) are good for short term or immidiate relief of anxiety symptoms.
For long term control of a panic or anxiety disorder, SSRIs are commonly used. These include medications like Prozac, Zoloft, or Paxil.
There is another medication called buspirone (BuSpar) that is chemically similar to the benzodiazepines, but is not associated with the same sedating side effects. This medication is used for long term treatment of an anxiety disorder

zoloft is supposed to prevent them and xanaxs are prescribed for you to take when one begins

You can take a class of medication called SSRI otherwise known as Selective Seratonin Re-uptake Inhibitor (Not sure I spelled correctly). I suffered for years with Panic Attacks and Depression (depression often goes hand in hand with Panic Attacks). I went to my Doctor and was prescribed Paxil. It was an amazing change for my mental health. I never thought it would help until I actually took it. I can say it saved my life because I started having Panic Attacks so often that it was driving me crazy! So do know that if you are dealing with Panic Attacks that it is a medical condition and can be treated very well with modern treatments. You need to know though that not everybody needs medication. Some people can be treated quite successfully with talk therapy.

I see that there are lots of ways to cure panic attcks,phills, medication and so on…
but what you should reallly do is suit your self for which is good for you and good for your health. You shold not spoil your healt while curing your panic attack. I know it sound crazy but yes it does spoil your health if you take phills.
So there has to be a way by which you can cure the panic attack whcih required no phills ,sitting right at home, and i have cured by that method and so others (around 2-3 thousands)
