Anxiety and Pregnancy any advice?

Okay thank you in advance.

This year has been hell for me. I have problems with bad depression and got back on my meds generally Prozac, HOWEVER, a new scary symptom has arisen….panic attacks. The prozac has helped with my moods and I took it during my first pregnancy but I have never had anxiety and panic attacks that have manifested so physically. I was in the ER twice that’s how bad it was! They put me on some Clonazepam a while back and that helped alot but once I found out I was pregnant I stopped it.

I can’t eat.
I can’t sleep.
My symptoms are manifesting so physically that I am losing weight. I have tried yoga, counseling, breathing, and they still come. I just do not know what to do.

Any advice from maybe any of you out there who have experienced this?

I know how you feel. I suffer from panic attacks everyday almost for the last 6 months and before that I suffered with them on and off since I was little. I am 23 now. I think you should talk to your Dr. about this and see if there is any medication they can put you on that will not effect you or the baby & if you plan on breastfeeding then you will want something safe after too.

You will be fine and you will get through this and hopefully I will too. It is a scary and bad feeling. I came across this video today and it was helpful a little bit. Watch it and it might just help you too.

how to get over anxiety?

im 13 and i had a panic attack 2 months ago since i have been worried all the time about everything..like fainting, epileptic fits, seizures and i have never even had any of these before..i worry all the time and i cant stop even about school..i dont know what to do should i do yoga??
also i feel lightheaded alot so what should i do??

Go see your doctor. You may have an anxiety disorder. I do not know about yoga, but vitamin B6 and B12 are great for anxiety. You can also find trytophan in certain foods, and that can mellow you out. Stay away from coffee and caffeinated beverages. Having a good diet can help as well.

Coping With Panic Attack Symptoms

Panic attacks tend to jump out of nowhere without warning. Although experts don’t know for sure what exactly causes panic attacks, they know one thing is certain; it appears to “run in the family.” So chances are, if your mother , father, siblings, or other immediate family members suffer from them, there’s a good chance other family members may suffer from them also!

The common panic attack symptoms are:

  • An intense feeling of fear
  • Heart Palpitations
  • Numbness and/or tingling in limbs
  • Having difficulty breathing
  • Sweating
  • Nausea
  • Stomach Upset
  • Pain in the Chest

Most people coping with these panic attack symptoms report they usually go away after approximately 10-20 minutes.

People who suffer from repeated panic attacks coupled with the fact that these attacks severely disrupt their daily routines and lives, may be diagnosed with panic disorder. Panic disorder sufferers intentionally avoid certain situations or places they think may have triggered a previous attack, and they incessantly worry about when the next one will occur.

It’s a good idea to get yourself checked out by a physician if you think you’ve experienced a panic attack so you can rule out any other medical condition you may have. Also, by immediately seeing a physician, you can set yourself on a much quicker path to recovery.

While coping with panic attacks, try exercising daily after getting medical clearance from your doctor, even if it means merely walking fifteen minutes a day.

If you smoke, consider quitting altogether; this is a known trigger for many panic attack sufferers.

Make time to relax yourself. You don’t have to resort to meditation or yoga if you don’t want to. A great way to do this is to close your eyes on your lunch break with a little soft music, and visualizing yourself in a safe, serene place, such as a brook, a distant waterfall, a beautiful landscape, etc.

Educate your loved ones on what is occurring if they don’t already know; what you are going through is very real, and ultimately the best cure will come from within your very own mind!

Tips for Overcoming Panic Attacks

Being diagnosed with panic disorder is not something out of the ordinary. This is because there are indeed thousands and thousands of people who are suffering from the disorder today. It is because of this huge number that there have been so many methods and cures developed to deal with the disorder effectively. The common options that you have are professional treatment, in the form of psychotherapy and medications, and natural remedies, in the form of herbal remedies and stress management techniques.

As expected, psychotherapy and medication would be more costly on the pocket than its natural counterpart. You cannot really say that your condition would be completely cured with you on the road to recovery after just three or four sessions of psychotherapy. Consequently, you would also have to contend with medications, which just add to the overhead expenses. If you have the budget for this, well and good. If not, then it would be better not to force the matter and just focus on going for the natural remedies in the market.

Of course, you cannot really expect that these herbal remedies and stress management techniques would have effects that are as fast as those of psychotherapy and medication. Remember that herbals would have different effects on your body for these effects are dependent on how your body would respond to the chemical composition of these herbs, unlike medicines that are geared specifically to a particular area of your brain or your body. Thus, it would also be better to consult your physician prior to taking certain herbs that are recommended for panic attacks.

Stress management in the form of meditation and yoga is also recommended in dealing with panic attacks. These can effectively teach you how to control your emotions in a more appropriate way. Thus, you are able to respond to whatever stressful situation better, and you would not really overreact to whatever stimulus is presented to you.

You should also pay attention to your diet, eliminating food substances that can have detrimental effects on your disposition. For instance, caffeine is one thing you should take off your diet right away. Caffeine can only make you anxious and nervous, keeping you on the edge that any situation that can make you feel edgy or tense can already trigger a full-blown panic attack. When it comes to diet, you should still consult your physician so he or she can come up with a list of food items you should avoid altogether.
